In one of my companies, we have even defined a term we call

In the News last night, I saw for the first time a person talk about creating a commercial solution to environmental problems and it made very happy. I hope indeed that the person at the World Wildlife Fund who got the idea to hire the reputable firm of BCG to propose a solution to the problems of the Baltic Sea, a Friday alhoma cake today!
The background is my wife Caroline invited me on a date last night and we went to see the movie Gravity. When we got home and changed from my mother who babysat I got stuck in front of Current, which for me is quite unusual. I try to avoid TV in general because it rarely makes me feel better afterwards, especially news. But today it was different and I am very happy!
In one of the features talked about the fact one of the major problems that we and our children actually affected by today. The environmental problems in the Baltic Sea. This time, according to the fishermen in Hanöbukten Simrishamn doing very poorly and that water quality is lousy. It's really not news at this point that we neglect our oceans and not least our planet.
However, what was new and I was so excited about is that they had invited a consultant Fredrik Lind from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to the studio to hear about their proposed solution. I know the BCG since it together with McKinsey, one of the two companies that I wanted to work for before I decided to run their own business. In short, it is one of the most prestigious and best (definitely not the cheapest) consulting firms available.
It's brilliant is that they have been hired by the World Wildlife Fund, which has now made it brilliant grip that by BCG talk about the solution from an economic, political and, not least, an opportunity-oriented perspective. My experience from my work in BGF where I try to contribute to a positive impact on the environment is that we humans often talk about the environment from a problem-oriented perspective. How bad it is, how we destroy and how it should be different and that we should do something - and everyone agrees.
The problem is then that no one does anything! Everyone is busy with her and no one has an incentive to do something because it is not a concern. It has no practical influence alhoma in my everyday life. You can donate alhoma some money to appease the conscience but it is literally a drop in the ocean. The fish and animals in the sea have no vote so there is no incentive for politicians, for companies it is just an expense or necessary evil to do something and you and I've already life to the full with what we should do and not do.
In one of my companies, we have even defined a term we call "Baltic" syndrome. It is when everyone should be responsible for anything, which always results in nothing getting done - everyone's responsibility. There is no one pushing the issue - not Sweden, not Poland, not the Baltic states, Finland not for everyone thinks that we are responsible together.
The BCG and Fredrik Lind did so brilliant is that he talked about the Baltic alhoma problem is different. Their perspective on the Baltic Sea has its basis in the Baltic alhoma Sea is like any business and that it just happens to feel bad. It allows one to apply many models and come up with interesting findings. Their conclusion was that a healthy Baltic Sea in 2030 would be able to: Generate more than 450,000 new jobs, create a platform for the development of innovations and technologies able to generate new business in problems such as eutrophication, water quality Increase the tourism industry, create partnerships between the Baltic countries
That is, he was not talking to people "feel" that we should take care of it. Rather talked about economics, facts and growth. The cool thing was that he referred to the Finance Minister and the Prime Minister. Note that it was not to our marginalized Environment as most others had been talking to!
Talk about talking out of politicians and policy makers world. What is one of the politicians' biggest problem right now - unemployment and the economy. Here he presents new ways to create new jobs, new businesses, new innovation alhoma and increased collaboration. Not a word about making the Baltic Sea healthy. It is going to become the indirect konskvensen. You solve someone else's problems and get their problems solved in the bargain. Cool!
This is so very rare and unfortunately, I think many may have opinions alhoma that are well no way to solve environmental problems - especially from idealistic direction. In my work as an ambassador for Better Globe where we do a similar thing - solve environmental problems and fattigdsomsproblem through commercial solutions - I have more than once been told all sorts of weird. From that I make money on the poor, that we destroy that it would be better if we did not have a profit motive.
The problem is that without a profit motive
